Spring 2025 Graduates: 

The HIO will begin reviewing OPT I-20 requests on February 10, 2025, and the earliest date you will receive your OPT I-20 form is Monday, March 3, 2025. If you submit your OPT I-20 request between Monday, February 10, 2025 and Wednesday, February 19, 2025, you are guaranteed to receive your OPT I-20 on the earliest possible date of March 3, 2025. If you submit your I-20 request Thursday, February 20, 2025 or later, your request will be subject to normal HIO processing times.

Students must submit the above electronic form to the HIO to request an I-20 with an OPT recommendation. The form will require that students upload the following documents:

1. The HIO Date Verification Form.
2. A copy of your Most Recent I-94 record.
3. For post-completion OPT only, proof of payment for the HIO maintenance fee. 
4. PhD, DrPH, and DDes Students must also upload a completed Doctoral Degree Confirmation Date form
